Founded in 1991 by Australian Renske Carbone, Papoose Toys and Creative Wood Company under the umbrella of Colours of Australia produce natural toys and loose parts for open-ended creative play. Working with natural materials, production takes place in small communities in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. Pure wool felt toys and loose parts are made by hand at fairly traded rates of pay. The Creative Wood Company products are made primarily using waste from the furniture industry with wood supplied exclusively from wood traders meeting the SVLK Timber Legality Verification.

Papoose Felt Care Instructions: Papoose Felt is made from pure 100% wool and therefore cleaned similarly to wool.

A Favourite in Our Small World Play

We only wish there was a secondary set of these gnomes to add to our collection. We play with them very frequently in all kinds of small world play. We love the soft felted gnomes for forest adventures among papoose trees and felted homes the most, but our gnomes have been “gnome” to travel to far away lands, like the block castle and wooden barn as well. My kids love to include them in all kinds of play.

These little gnomes are super cute! They will work well in our doll house, and with our blocks, and all of our other small world pieces. I got these for my daughters 4th birthday next week, and am so looking forward to gifting them! She is very into baby dolls right now, so I think she might take care of them as little babies, too. They have a very appealing hand made feel to them.
